Glass water pipes: Fix your leaky hookah

Step one: So, first things first, determine that there is leakage in your glass pipes. In order to do this, take off the bowl and the tray and then hold your thumb over the top of the hookah. Try and seal the opening where the bowl would normally go and then with your mouth try to suck in through the hose. So, here is the thumb rule, if you are able to draw air then stay assured that your Glass Water Pipes has leakage.
Step two: Now that you know that your hookah has leakage, it’s perhaps the best time to determine the position of the leak and need to isolate the faulty part now. So, where to start with? Here is an easy guide –
- Point one – Start checking the hose. First, remove the hose form the glass Water Pipes and plug one end of the hose. Now repeat the first step and suck the air in through the other end. Try to assess whether or not you could draw air and if you can draw air then the pipe hose is the culprit.
- Point two – But what if the hose is not faulty? Fret no more and try this step. Seal the top of your water pipes (you can use your thumb for doing so) and suck directly from the hose adapter without attaching the hose. Could you draw air? If yes then your hose adapter is faulty.
- Point three: Also watch out the grommets and make sure that the grommets fit tightly. Take note that when you try and connect the grommets to the hookah, it does not wiggle.

- To be honest, if your hookah is wobbly, and if it is allowing air to pass through the seal then you can actually fix it with a fancy little paper towel!
- Get it straight here, the base grommet can worn out with regular usage, so here’s a simple and easy at-home fix formula of fixing the grommets with little tape and elbow grease.
- If the hose falls out of the hose adapter then you can tighten it by simply pulling out that roll of tape once again!
